Tacoma Dome Welcomes Class of 2024

More than 75,000 people are expected to attend college and high school graduations during 25 ceremonies held at the Tacoma Dome this year, beginning on May 30 with Bates Technical College. The Tacoma Venues & Events team will also host three additional ceremonies at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center.

As the class of 2024 crosses the stage and receives their diplomas, thousands of friends and family members will visit the Dome District and surrounding areas. Community members and area businesses are preparing for increased traffic around the Dome and convention center as graduates and guests attend ceremonies, stay at hotels, and celebrate at local restaurants.

“The Tacoma Venues & Events team is honored to welcome the class of 2024 and their visitors to Tacoma as we continue the legacy of hosting this important milestone in so many lives,” said Adam Cook, TVE Director. “It is a joy to celebrate these graduates’ accomplishments, and we are proud to serve as our community’s gathering place for another generation’s iconic Tacoma Dome stories. Congratulations to all!”

In 2023, over 9,600 graduates were awarded their diplomas on the Tacoma Dome stage with more than 78,000 people in attendance. Graduations in Tacoma last year generated more than $1 million in economic impact.

Graduates and guests are encouraged to visit the Tacoma Dome’s website for specific event information, including clear bag policy as well as recommended driving directions to the Tacoma Dome, to plan ahead to not miss a moment.
